A lot of updates and changes in the past couple days that it warrants its own major devlog post. I think a lot of you will like these!
Gameplay
- Massive update to Fishing. The loot table for the fishing plugin has been completely reworked. This now includes different tiers of rarity which will scale the difficulty of the minigame. Rarity also dictates the value of the loot dropped. All fish now have lore, with several high value and roleplay focused items now obtainable through the loot drops. Additionally, you can now purchase enchanted fishing rods which will affect your loot drop chances and the difficulty of the minigame. We will continue to add new loot to fishing, and rework some of the features available. /catalog is temporarily unavailable, but you can still access it through /lfish catalog.
- A ton of new custom mobs have been added which will be used in various eventlines. I won't spoil what these are, but some of them are pretty dang cool! Some of the upcoming events hosted by the lovely DM team will feature some of these new additions.
- Hunger has been readded in-game. This is constantly being tweaked to ensure it is fair and not game breaking. Ideally, it will tick down at a significantly slower rate than standard mechanics. But this has been added to ensure that players who want to focus on more food related roleplay feel like they can contribute mechanically.
- New archaeology loot has been added. These include minor and non sellable items to allow you to create your own food sources.
- New tokenshop items have been added. This includes one new emote and one new pet.
- Two of the existing archaeology sites have been stripped and made defunct. However, four new sites have been scattered around the map. This is following the introduction of fast travels and map exploration, as the original intention was to spread archaeology sites around the map.
Website
- The Horses, Pets & Mounts article on the wiki has undergone a revamp following the addition of the new horse plugin last update. It now reflects all the new changes, items, and functionality with horses.
- Some visibility issues for certain threads with specific permissions has been fixed on the forums; they should now appear normal.
Building
- N/A.
Other
- The memory leak issue has been fully identified and fixed. This issue stemmed from chunk rendering issues pertaining to the interactive map plugin. The map plugin has been temporarily disabled while the issue is addressed, expect it to get readded soon (this is the Map link in the navigation bar).
Known issues
- Optimisation issues still persist. In searching for the infamous memory leak issue, I found several areas which can be improved and optimised to increase server performance and speed. A lot of these changes are quite time consuming and will take a bit of time to implement.
- There’s a bug currently with rolling multiple dice with the roll command, where 2d20 for example will only show one output. This is due to a variable not being passed correctly to the output and will be fixed soon.
- The issue with show item still remains where if you show an item, there is a small period of time (a couple minutes) before you can show a different item. Will be fixed soon.
- Issue still remains with pet renaming for certain pets. This only applies to a couple of them and is due to a name anchor. Will be fixed as soon as possible.
