Come to dig into my past have you?
Hate to disappoint but my history is truly inconsequential.
Should ask someone else to share their story with you.
Really? Fine, I'll regale you with a short tale.
I was born in some far off land with a name that no one cares to remember.
My family, like many others, had fled there to escape the Cataclysm.
Without a coin to their name and children to feed, they began performing on the streets.
They certainly weren't the best at it. But they got by.
However if you give it another hundred years. We see something different.
A family that dominates the stage. One that owns their own theatre.
Apparently my folks had uncovered a talent for acting.
One that I too would be blessed with.
I still remember the first time I stepped onto the stage.
I had been made to perform as a background character for some drama act.
Looking out at the crowd, in awe at the scene before them, made my heart skip.
I wanted nothing more than to become the cause of such awe.
And so I did.
It wouldn't be long before I started taking lead roles.
I struck down foes as legends of old.
I brought fear against my enemies as great villains.
And I tugged heartstrings with my last gasps.
It was at this point I began to use the name "Leopold".
A name that would spread through the city.
I had gone from performing local legends.
To being one.
A happy story if it had come to an end here.
But alas, This tale is not done yet.
One night, after a show, I had gone out for drinks.
It was after my 9th drink that I heard the sound of someone speaking ill of my family
Now. These days I am a changed man.
A man who does not condone the use of violence.
But alas, I had not yet made that change by this point.
Which is why I didn't hesitate to introduce this loudmouth to my fist.
Unfortunately, this man was deemed 'important.'
Something about "Son of the Baron". Truthfully inconsequential.
It wasn't but a minute after I cocked my fist back that I found it chained to its counterpart.
Another five and I was standing behind bars.
A few hours later the Baron came to speak with me.
Said some things about "Family name" and "Legacy"
If I am being quite honest. I tuned out much of his speech.
In the end, he made me an offer.
The charges for assault against a member of the aristocracy were quite serious.
If I were found guilty, I would likely spend a few years in the mines.
More importantly, my reputation would be tarnished.
I likely wouldn't ever act again.
The Baron's offer was for me to leave the city.
And to never return to it. Allowing me to continue acting.
And him to avoid the scandal that comes with these things.
Left without much choice. I took the deal.
I found the first ship leaving port.
Turns out it was heading for Port Manaan.
A few weeks later and I arrived.
And now here I am telling you this story.
Happy now? I told you it wasn't anything special.
