The Monthly Briefing
As we continue to develop and grow our server, transparency and open communication with our community are priorities we hold close. By launching these Monthly Briefings, our goal is to ensure that every player stays fully informed on each stage of our journey, with updates on when we’re starting, progressing, or finalizing projects. We’re committed to keeping things clear and connected for all players, so you’ll always know what’s happening behind the scenes, and we’ll be updating you even if there’s nothing new to report that month. No fluff, no silence- just continuous communication.

Previously, updates were given only for Development and Community Team changes when significant news arose. But now, we’re expanding these monthly briefings to cover all teams, giving a complete picture at the beginning of every month. Our goal is to make sure that no matter what we’re working on, you’re always in the loop and feel like a valued part of the progress we make together. This isn’t just our project, it’s a shared path we’re all taking, step by step.




Server Changes
Under New Management

As part of a new chapter for the server, full ownership of Mortals and Mythos has officially transitioned from chunky_dog to SerMordryd. This handover allows chunky_dog to focus on his offline commitments while still occasionally contributing to the Development Team. SerMordryd will now oversee the project’s direction.

New Staff Team Names
In alignment with recent structural changes, the names and organization of our staff teams have been updated for clarity and purpose. An Administration Team has been formally introduced, dedicated to high-level server management. The DM Team is now the Story Team, focusing on narrative and player experiences, while the Build Team has been renamed the Design Team, representing its broader focus on build aesthetics and development.

New Lore Setting, Timeline, Map
The lore setting of the server has been reimagined, now taking place amidst The Cataclysm, with players inhabiting the last stronghold of mortalkind. Reflecting this, the timeline has been condensed so that the Cataclysm occurred more recently, immersing players in the aftermath of the recent devastation. The map itself is undergoing a significant transition, with the new world “Vaelyn” being crafted and designed to align more with this updated lore and timeline.

Map Transition
Efforts across all teams have centered on the upcoming transition to our new map, Vaelyn. This pivotal move marks an immersive shift in gameplay, with new features and important updates debuting alongside the new environment. The transition is nearing completion, and we’re excited to unveil the next phase of the server’s journey, fully integrated with the latest setting and story elements.

Rebranding
As the server evolves, so does its identity. Following the recent ownership change, we are rebranding from Mortals and Mythos to a different domain. Information on this will be released after official channels have been realized and set up. This reflects our vision for the server’s future while honoring its legacy. The rebrand will launch alongside the map transition and will also signify the server’s progression from Alpha to Beta stages.

Staff Updates
Administration Team
The Administration Team has been reorganized along with the rest of staff and the transition of ownership to SerMordryd. For purposes of delegation, the Administration Team has been made responsible for oversight of the Staff Teams and working with the Server Owner to organize community direction.

Community Team
The Community Team has continued to work through Whitelist Applications consistently. Along with the Design Team, Community completely rebuilt and reorganized Tutorial Island to streamline and improve the new player experience. Furthermore, Community has been working with Moderation and Administration to improve the community values. As well, Community has branched out to include PR and content creation.

The Design Team has been working diligently over the past month to prepare for the map transition. Our primary focuses have been the new map, assisting the Story Team with events, and rebuilding Tutorial Island.
