In dark silence, a peculiar group of six have found themselves in a darker corner of Vaelyn. Markus, Gnari, Rukguk, Quil, Lucian and Mortis had gathered post their
endeavor to find the source of the undead creatures which had been scowering the outer fields within the protective boundary guarding the town.

On their adventure, they came past grotesque creations, abhorrent abominations grafted from the flesh of animals, mankind and whatever else had been found.
They slaughtered the creatures, gaining them deeper access into the layer of the one, who seemed behind all this.

Though as they stepped into the dead end which presented itself infront of them, only a single malnourished man was visible, clutching his hands together
as he frantically shuffled through tools with jittering hands. "A way to save the last bastion, they are to blind to notice their barrier failing" Mumbling to himself as his hands
stumbled over themself, reaching back and forth as he hadnt noticed the group barge their way in.

He sat few finishing stitches into a large husk of flesh upon an altar of sorts, though despite impossible odds. It began to move, alerting and forcing the adventurers
to retaliate. The golem raised of flesh had quite the fight in it, yet the fragile man. Had been disposed of early, a flaming sword had been barged through his back right between the ribs. Leaving a cauterized hole and a lifeless remain.

This although, is simply where our story begins.

With the lack of information given, and a frustrated outcome for Mortis and Quil, which had guided the group mostly. It could only come to
one thing. The resurrection of the man, to gain the information he had withheld the group by his untimely demise.

His body was placed upon colden stone, merely a hand placed upon the lifeless chest, as tiny tendrils within the hole of his chest began to sprout. They intertwined,
connected and slowly filled the hole. Almost as it had fully closed up in a sickly purple color. A inhuman choking sound. The dead man had been brought back to life.
Terror found in his eyes as he clutched onto his body in disbelief and horror. The pain, the fleeting feeling of control. Yet he was here.

Swiftly the silence was broken as it was clear there would not be an intention of further harm.
Rather less apologetic about the mans sudden gasp at life, his first
sights were pieces of paper. Sketches and copies of a sigil found where he had been subdued. "What is this? Better yet, what reason drove you to send such monstrous creatures after the citizens of our town?" Mortis asked, the rest of the group had preferred to remain silent. An act of defiance against death presumeably not seen positive in most eyes, which was understandable.

Picking the paper with shaking hands, the man looked like a toddler. As if freshly reborn, yet a glossy emptiness in his eyes would hint at the unnatural shift his body had been caught within.
"I... I had to. The c-c-creatures out there, beyond the boundary. T-they hunted me for weeks. I ran into an empty ruins, older than anything ive ever seen. But with simply nothing around." He rambled on, his body finally calming down. Yet he was not to blame, after all. Death should be a last rest not easily interrupted. "After resting in there undisturbed. I left, hoping to eventually run into aid. A-after a few days though, i began to hear speech. Something telling me of a crumbling boundary. Telling me the only way to keep the evil from reaching in. Was to graft flesh together. At first it seemed difficult, but as if magic, the bodies held together. Beginning to do their job. Saving your people." He stopped, that being all he knew until he had been interrupted by the group now interrogating him. "That doesn't make any sense, the boundary around the city has been holding without a single imperfection for years now." Mortis speculated infront the quiet viewers. Gazing their way, it seemed Markus had a spark of thaught: "What if... The boundary in question, is not the boundary around Vaelyn? There might be more out there that managed to uphold against the creatures out there." The idea plausible.

With this information. The man had given it his all, his self being locked within a cell under observation of the Vaelguard. Yet later let roam free as he did not seem a threat, perhaps gullible. Yet nothing evil might gain a grasp on him within the boundary. Vaelyn had gained a man now rehabilitating from the awful life he fled from in the wasteland beyond the Boundary.

For the rest of our group, he had presented a map. A rough outsketch of distant rivers. Coiling around a deep forest within which the ruins he had visited are supposed to be.

"At last though" Mortis stopped the five from leaving the hall they had been in for the past while, interrogating. He presented a wooden box, filled with a variety of pieces the group might remember from their first encounter. It seems he had brought useful bits and things along with him. "As a thank of mine, for the aid you lot have proven to be." As one by one, each of the people which had supported him would reach for something within the box.

Gnari would have reached for a blood-red gem in round shape. Shimmering in the light. Lucian aswell would take one of these.
Rukguk had chosen a black piece of stone, a shard belonging to the altar. Quil would reach for a jar, something moving and jittering inside. Yet visibly without malice, yet joy.
Markus, would reach in last. Pulling a little rotten bone with a few specks of flesh on it. A dissapointed face meeting Mortis's visage. A crude joke of the already peculiar man?
Perhaps, yet before it would be contemplated. The bone in Markus's hand would tuck on him. Looking back down, there stood a skeletal apparition moving and behaving exactly like a dog. Perhaps a little morbid, though a companion alass.
Gnari and Lucian both own a Trinket type gem, which while worn gives a +2 to Max HP
The Jar Quill has, contains a small ball of tendrils split from the big flesh pile. It is completely docile and can do tricks
Rukguk, is capable to shape a weapon from the Altar shart capable of inflicting Necrosis1
And Markus, has a pet skeleton Dog with 4HP and 2DMG And Stats of 0 (It can die, but be brought back with ease)

One fine morning, the citizens of the city woke up to the bulletin board receiving a new nail for the first time in quite some while. The transcribing and outcome of the interrogation had been made public, as forwarded towards higher officials. Mortis had gained the possibility to collect people once anew, and to venture out in the forseeable future. And thus, this flyer had been placed upon the bulletin board.
