HISTORY SYNOPSIS
To say there has been shepherding would be misleading; the crook-bearer occupies the tall chair by the fire, but he does not draft decrees. It is as it has been since their time amongst the idyllic Selyyal, basking in the omnipresent star hanging overhead of the dehydrating badlands of Sela-Cuul, long before their flight from the early devastations of The Cayaslism. In that place, frozen in time, life passed without the necessity of change. Traditions ceaselessly held their lustre; kinsfolk lived their lives as the gear-teeth of a shimmering gestalt. The exodus that transplanted the sundrenched dynasty into the new nucleus of the Exaltunate evolved those antediluvian natures from the inside out. Like a charlatan in the market, the al-Malaga acted anew in the clothes of old, and only by unyielding repetition became the very thing they initially pretended to be. Today, the al-Malaga are a vast and decentralised rhizome manifestation that has, over nearly two centuries, patiently wormed its way into the roaring heart of the cog-driven machine that is the city of Vaelyn. The bloodline has carried many civil officers, opportunists, statespeople, and capitalists who seized on market opportunities to generate wealth through businesses that fed as vampires on the desires of the encircling colony. The present head of this ancient apparatus was born with the reconstituted bones of ancestors. Beneath a youthful complexion lurks a primaeval spirit that has leached out into the family, auspiciously drawing it towards its genesis.
